The Autumn edition of Every Day is a Good Day, the community newsletter for Denaby and Conisbrough, is out! This second editions builds on the stories of summer and is celebrating the Community Micro Grant Scheme which has reached its 1 year anniversary.
Take a look at all the fantastic ways community groups are working together to bring about interesting and diverse opportunities for their residents. The Community Micro Grant Scheme was set up by Well Doncaster and is managed by Doncaster West Development Trust following a community Dragons Den. This was a fun evening

where residents could pitch their ideas for community action to a panel of experts to get hold of £250 to use to get their idea going. Well North Executive Chair and social entrepreneur, Lord Andrew Mawson lead the panel which also consisted of Local Ward Member Councillor Nigel Ball, Public Health Portfolio Lead Councillor Pat Knight and Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council Business Manager Claire Bossard.
Building on the success of the Dragons Den and recognising that there are lots of people who have good ideas but do not have the capital to get things going, the Community Micro Grant was developed. All applications are reviewed by a panel of local residents who meet monthly to discuss and decide which applicants are successful.
From tents to teas parties, commemorative light displays to football gear, there is such a diverse range of groups active across the Denaby and Consibrough area and the 26 successful applicants are making a real difference in the lives of their local people.
