Community connectors Covid-19
The Council has supported the activities of 10 community connectors since March 2021. The community connectors have supported community groups in dealing with the challenges of COVID-19, particularly when it has come to encouraging our communities to take up the vaccinations.
Connectors are socially engaged members of the community, knowledgeable of the needs, assets, and strengths of their local areas. They play an important role in providing information to and developing relationships with hard-to-reach groups. They also help to improve access to services and activities in these groups.
Community connectors have been hosted by organisations from the voluntary and community sector, including:
- Changing Lives
- DICE
- Healthwatch Doncaster
- Helping Hands
- Live Inclusive
- People Focus Group
- Voluntary Action Doncaster
Watch more about their role, what they have learnt, ways they connect with people, and their advice to residents over the winter period below.
