I have worked within the health and social sector for the past three years after successfully completing my BA Hons degree in Criminology and Psychological studies. I am experienced in using holistic needs assessment, the Five Ways to Wellbeing and person-centred approaches to positively adapt and empower.
I live with my fiancé, and I am a mum to three children and two dogs so understand the business that everyday family life can bring, alongside the joys that go with it. A strong and supportive community is important to me to ensure that we are enabling our younger generations to have the same, if not better opportunities then those that were available to us.
I have previously worked within the health and social sector, including cancer support services and empowering individuals as a social prescriber. These roles have provided me a varied understanding of health inequalities across Doncaster and some of the disadvantages that many of our community’s experience. This has helped me to understand what difficulties individuals may have in accessing services, and where we can look to make positive changes through community engagement.
I feel that regardless of what area in Doncaster a child or adult lives, they should have access to the same levels of encouragement, support and assistance, ensuring that their wellbeing is positively supported. I want to be part of the work that is striving to make this happen by listening to residents and make these changes reality together.
Fun fact: My passion is and always has been horsepower….motorbikes began aged 5, cars started aged 16 and horse riding across my 4 decades.
What people appreciate about me: My open and honest communication, my fact finding and positive work ethic.
What is important to me: My family, my friends and ensuring I am true to myself.
The thing I enjoy best about being part of Well Doncaster: Being out and about hearing, listening and finding out what residents think and feel about our city. I am hoping to learn from this feedback to empower areas to work towards a more positive and pleasant community for everyone and to assist in making a difference.
